Chief Wahoo To Be Revisited By Commissioner Manfred After The World Series

Every single season we have to hear about the Washington Redskins logo as a symbol of racism and I can understand the position…

Consequently, because of the Indians success we have to hear about the Indians logo as a symbol of racism. One of the topics surrounding the World Series is the use of Chief Wahoo. With Chief Wahoo I don’t personally view it as a derogatory racist name or image like the Washington Redskins. Instead I view it as a tribute to a group of people. Just the same as the Buccaneers, The Titans, The Irish, The Vikings, The Chiefs, The Cowboys, The Raiders etc. Besides, The Chief seems happy as hell and ready to win a title.

But either way, Commissioner Manfred was on Mike and Mike this morning discussing the “issue” and Manfred had the following to say:

“I think that after the World Series, at an appropriate point in time Mr. Dolan and I have agreed that we will have a conversation about what should happen with that particular logo going forward…”

Translation: Chief Wahoo will be gone next year. I think Manfred and MLB will insist that the Indians remove the logo going forward.

So with that, let’s hope the Indians can rally together and #Win1forWahoo – Send the Chief out on top!
